30.03.2011 - IATA Reso 302 - Interlining Baggage rules as of 1.4.2011

IATA has informed its agents that new baggage rule selection criteria become effective 1 April 2011. They will replace resolutions 300/301. Resolution 302 provides guidance for determining which carriers baggage provisions apply for an interline checked portion when the allowance and/or charges differ among booked carriers. A detailed overview and explanation to the new process can be found here. In addition all major GDS are adapting their functionalities enabling them to reflect the new rules provided the information has been loaded into their system by the respective carriers.
